ONLINE FOOD SAFETY SUPERVISOR

Anyone can now undertake Food Safety Supervisor training ONLINE thanks to a unique partnering relationship undertaken by Queensland Hotels Association and Australian Institute of Food Safety.

The ONLINE course meets the Australian Quality Training Framework standards for the nationally recognised competencies to become a Food Safety Supervisor.

For the hospitality industry this includes mandatory SITXFSA101 & SITFSA201 competencies:

SITXFSA001: Use hygienic practices for food safety (formerly SITXFSA101: Use hygienic practices for food safety or SITXFSA001A/THHBCC11B Implement food safety procedures)

SITXFSA002: Participate in safe food handling practices (formerly SITXFSA201: Participate in safe food handling practices or SITXOHS002A/THHGHS01B Follow workplace hygiene procedures)

This is the qualification hotels, restaurants, cafes, takeaways, market stall operators and caterers must have to meet their legal obligations under the respective food safety legislation, regulated by local government.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This engaging and interactive course is designed to take you step-by-step through the food safety laws in Australia and help you understand what you need to do to ensure that food is handled, prepared, cooked and stored safely in your organisation. You'll also learn about the requirements of a Food Safety Plan.

Cost: $179 for QHA Members / $199 Non-Members

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Students must supply a current, valid email address, have Internet access and be able to commence the program on enrolment.

PROGRAM DURATION

On average 6-10 hours (for a student with some experience). Students have 12 months from the date of enrolment to complete the course. You don't have to complete the training all in one go as the program saves your work as you progress. Instructor and IT support is available during normal business hours.

PROGRAM AWARD

Statement of Attainment detailing competencies achieved. Please allow up to 5 business days after completion of all assessments for processing and postage of results/award.

HOW TO ENROL

STEP 1:

Members: book online - you will be sent a confirmation email and forwarded a tax invoice to pay for the course.

Non-members: please book and pay online via the payment options below, a confirmation email will be sent immediately and a tax invoice receipt forwarded in the mail.

Once you receive your confirmation email move to Step 2.

STEP 2:

You will subsequently receive a second email with your username, password and instructions (after your enrolment is processed). Go to Australian Institute of Food Safety and log in (at top of home page). Click on My Courses and the portal to enter and your course is available to begin the training.

It is important to enter your unique email address under "Account Information' once you enter the database.

Enrolment can be completed at any time, however, the course can only be activated by QHA during normal business hours. Access is subsequently unlimited after activation.

Once you have successfully completed the course, you will be prompted to provide further personal details for certificate delivery.
