ONLINE FOOD HANDLERS CERTIFICATE

This course is suitable for all Australian States.

Anyone can now undertake a Food Handlers Certificate training course ONLINE thanks to our partnering relationship undertaken by Queensland Hotels Association and Australian Institute of Food Safety.

This ONLINE course meets the Australian Quality Training Framework standards for nationally recognised training. You can become a qualified Food Handler, attaining skills and knowledge in how to safely handle, prepare or store food in the workplace.

Unit of Competency: SITXFSA101: Use hygienic practices for food safety (formerly SITXFSA001A/THHBCC11B Implement food safety procedures)

This is not a mandatory qualification in the hospitality industry but under the Food Safety Standard (Food Standards A/NZ – Commonwealth Statutory Authority) food businesses must ensure that all food handlers have the skills and knowledge they need to handle food safely.

This course is suitable for entry level employees in the hotel, restaurant, cafe, takeaway, catering and market stall sector.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This engaging and interactive course is designed to take you step-by-step through the food safety laws in Australia and help you understand what you need to do to ensure that food is handled and prepared hygienically in your organisation.

Cost: $89 for QHA Members / $99 Non-Members

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Students must supply a current, valid email address, have Internet access and be able to commence the program on enrolment.

PROGRAM DURATION

On average 3-5 hours (for a student with some experience). Students have 12 months from the date of enrolment to complete the course. You don't have to complete the training all in one go as the program saves your work as you progress. Instructor and IT support is available during normal business hours.

PROGRAM AWARD

Statement of Attainment detailing competencies achieved. Please allow up to 5 business days after completion of all assessments for processing and postage of results/award.

HOW TO ENROL

STEP 1:

Members: book online - you will be sent a confirmation email and forwarded a tax invoice to pay for the course.
Non-members: please book and pay online via the payment options below, a confirmation email will be sent immediately and a tax invoice receipt forwarded in the mail.

Once your payment details are confirmed – move to Step 2.

STEP 2:

You will receive a welcome email and another with your username and password. Go to Australian Institute of Food Safety and log in (at top of home page). Click on My Courses and the portal to enter your course is available to begin your training.

Enrolment can be completed at any time; however, the course can only be activated by QHA during normal business hours. Access is subsequently unlimited after activation.

Once you have successfully completed the course, you will be prompted to provide further personal details for certificate delivery.
