Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV)


RMLV training assists managers in the responsible operation of licensed premises. Successful completion of this course provides participants with a certificate of attendance that is a prerequisite to obtaining an Approved Manager’s licence. All elements undertaken in this course are in accordance with the requirements of the Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) and relevant state legislation.

Venue: The QHA holds one- and two-day public face to face training courses at various locations in Queensland including regional areas.

RMLV training recommended, but "low-risk" venues can opt out

While industry best practice suggests this course will be of considerable value to all licensed venues, under the Queensland Liquor Act 1992, if you are a manager of a low risk venue, you are not legally required to complete the RMLV training, providing your business does not trade past midnight.

A low-risk premises means a premises licensed under the authority of:

  • Restaurant or café
  • Boat
  • Community club licence with no more than 2,000 members
  • Community other licence
  • Restricted liquor permit.

While industry best practice suggests this course will be of considerable value to all licensed venues,
