Paid Parental Leave

On 1 January 2011 the Paid Parental Leave Act 2010 took full effect with the paid component of the Commonwealth Government's scheme commencing. In 2013 Dad and Partner Pay was introduced.

The QHA has developed a Paid Parental Leave ("PPL") information session that is available for employers wanting to find out more about the PPL scheme, in particular, the requirement for employers to act as the Government's 'paymaster' in making Paid Parental Leave payments.

The Information Sessions are 2 hours in duration and cover the following elements of the scheme:

  • Overview of the Scheme
  • Who is responsible for approving applications and making payments
  • Employer responsibilities
  • The effect of PPL on employment conditions and entitlements
  • PPL documentary requirements including return to work.

COST: 

- $825 (inc GST) per in-house session for QHA members including Corporate Members and Partners
- $1,237.50 (inc GST) per in-house session for non members
