QHA members include all forms of hotels, resorts, accommodation providers, theme parks, tourist ventures, eco-tourism projects, convention centres, and similar venues. Members include small owner operated properties through to large multi-national companies. The only pre-requisite of membership is that the business be a private enterprise venture and be licensed under the Liquor Act.
The QHA is structured to provide regional representation through established zones and divisions within the State, and industry representation through the State office in Brisbane. In this structure, Residential Hotels are represented under the Accommodation Division, while other properties meet under the General Divisions of the QHA.
Membership of the QHA entitles operators to elect and be elected within the various Divisional and State structures. The QHA is also a State branch of the Australian Hotels Association (AHA), the national body. Accordingly, representation is provided for members at not only the local, regional, and state levels, but also nationally.
