From 1 January 2010, QHA members operating within the federal system of industrial relations will have experienced changes in relation to the Awards which apply to workplaces in the hospitality industry.
On 1 January, the modern Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2010 ("HIGA") took effect and replaced all previously existing Awards and NAPSAs.
However, while the HIGA has taken effect, where there are differences between wages (including industry allowances), loadings, penalty rates and shift allowances, such conditions in the pre-1 January Award or NAPSA will continue to apply until 30 June 2010.
While there are no changes to award rates and penalties until 1 July 2010, QHA has updated wage rate sheets to take into account the classification structure of the HIGA but which refer to wage rates from the previously existing Awards and NAPSAs. These wage rate sheets may be used until 30 June 2010.
Wage rate sheets are available to members only. Click the link below to access this information.
